Welcome to KevinHulbert.com!
Kevin James Hulbert is a writer and researcher investigating innovation in the fields of health, medicine and genetic research.
Kevin Hulbert is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego. As an undergraduate he was selected by the University to participate in two prestigious visiting studies and Ivy League college exchange programs. He studied American Colonial History at The College of William and Mary in historic Williamsburg, Virginia and intellectual history at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.

Kevin received Dean's List and Provost's Honors recognition for academic excellence, and was appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of a California State-chartered corporation governing undergraduate student affairs.

Kevin was awarded a degree in History in 1995 from UCSD's Earl Warrren College. He earned a double minor degree; the first in Scientific Perspectives, a broad survey of science and technology studies, the second in Political Science. His unusual amalgam of formal studies, drawn from both the Sciences and Humanities, provided him with the unique interdisciplinary perspective he employs in his research and writing today.

Prior to completing his university studies, Kevin pursued a diversity of challenges, including professional athletics, mountaineering, fire fighting, emergency medicine, journalism and teaching.

He has received awards for organizational leadership, academic achievement and community service. He became a licensed pilot in 1976 and has been a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association since 1994. He is a transoceanic sailor, and has served as a crew member aboard five historic tall ships on two oceans. Kevin became a member of the San Diego Maritime Museum in 1982, and served as an instructor at the Museum for the sailing crew of the world's oldest three-masted iron-hulled tall ship, the Star of India.

Kevin is also a member of the Art & Science Forum. The Forum is a discussion group that meets monthly to explore artistic and scientific innovation at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla, California. He is a past Forum presenter, and served as the Forum's publicity director.

Kevin James Hulbert was born in 1953 in Newport, Rhode Island. He was raised in Chevy Chase, Maryland and attended the public schools there. In 1980 he moved to La Jolla, California. After completing his university studies Kevin became a writer and researcher focusing on issues of health and well-being.

His future plans include establishing the Hulbert-Osmond Charitable Trust, a nonprofit foundation dedicated to sponsorship of innovation in health and wellness research.
